January 2010 Gulu Challenge Newsletter
Ugandan Challenge:
To help the United Methodist Churches of the Gulu District in Uganda purchase
land to build:
A Clinic
A Technical Training Centre
A Multi-purpose facility for Ministry
A Lodge for VIM Teams
Rev. David Ntogohnya, Gulu District DS said: This center will work toward
bringing peace, hope and wholeness to our children, youth and families who have
been affected by the 20 year war in Uganda.
The Response:
By Christmas of 2008, the $30,000 was raised for the purchase of the land that
is needed. The next step is a mission trip to the Gulu Region of Uganda to
begin the process of building the facilities listed above. The team of workers
is ready to go in late November after raising the funds needed for the
missionary journey. After a 13 hour plane trip, another 8 to 10 hours on mostly
dirt roads to Gulu, and then beginning the work, journey is definitely the right
term to use. Please continue to pray for the work being done in this area,
as well as the people of Uganda and across the world that are in need of Christ
and the basic needs of life.

Look Below to see the two sides of Uganda.
One side is the orphan children soldiers and a country torn apart by war.
The other side is the beautiful people, land, and wildlife that is undeniable proof of God' wonderful creation.
