From God's Word :  2 Kings 23:21-23

And the king commanded all the people saying, Prepare the Passover to Jehovah your God, as it is written in the Book of the Covenant. Surely there was not held such a Passover from the days of the judges who judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel, nor of the kings of Judah, but in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, this Passover was held to Jehovah in Jerusalem.  (2 Kings 23:21-23)

King Josiah is so moved by the desire to restore the relationship between Judah and God that he gets the whole nation to carry out the Passover in the greatest celebration ever held.  The King could see how far the nation had fallen away from the way of the Lord. He wanted to see his nation and people returned to the Lord. Much like Josiah's people, we are a nation that has fallen far from foundations built and grounded in the Lord.  With July 4th in mind, we must fall on our knees and pray for everyone in the world that they might turn back with reckless abandon to God.

 Heavenly Father, we acknowledge the heights from which we have fallen. May we turn to You with reckless abandon to pursue You and Your Call on our lives. Let us never cease to pray for our communities, nation, and the world.  May we see the fire of Your Holy Spirit spread in true revival of hearts and minds.  Let our eyes be opened to all You have placed before to do and say. May fill us with Your Grace, Hope, Boldness, and Love through the power of Your Holy Spirit. May Your Refining Fire fill the world.   In Your Precious Name. Amen.
